adoption timeline

As an adopter, you are an extension of the rescue process. Too many dogs end up in shelters or back in rescue because their humans were not prepared for the commitment and responsibility of a dog. Before filling out an application, please evaluate your ability to train, exercise, and care for this dog (financially and otherwise), for the span of its lifetime. Do not submit an application until you are absolutely certain you are ready to bring a puppy into your home. Their life depends on it!

the approval

If you are ready to adopt a puppy, the first step is to submit an adoption application through Petstablished. Once this is complete, you will be connected to one of our adoption coordinator volunteers to start the approval process. The timeframe from application to approval typically ranges between 2-3 days depending on your responsiveness along with your references including your veterinarian (if applicable).

the adoption

We do not operate like a traditional animal shelter. There are two ways to adopt from us:

The first is to adopt a puppy before it boards its freedom flight. After working closely with your adoption coordinator to match you with a pup (if you don’t have one in mind already), prospective adopters “meet” their pup through photos and conversations with our team. Once adopted, you will be scheduled to pick up your new family member.

The second is to meet, and then adopt, one of our puppies already living in one of our foster homes.

the suggested donation

The suggested adoption donation for our rescue dogs is $550 and includes all age appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchipping, and their flight to the United States. Our adoption fees do not cover the entire cost of vetting, any additional medical care or medications, food, care, and supplies for each of our pups. Since we rely on fundraising to compensate for those deficits, we are unable to reduce or refund this fee. Thank you for your understanding.

promising a lifetime of love and companionship

Please take your time while reviewing your adoption agreement (view sample contract here) and welcome letter – print them, save them, and read them now and then. This information is critical to your puppy’s health, well-being, and journey into adulthood. There are also several to-do items to check off once you bring your puppy home.
